OOM Closes The Book On 2009
Ohio Outlaw Motorsports announces cancellation of the October 3rd flat track race and October 4th TT race at the Holmes County Fairgrounds. These cancellations will in effect bring the inaugural season of Ohio Outlaw Motorsports to a close. Proprietors Adam Campbell and Bob Sigler cite numerous factors that led to making the difficult decision.
“Now that school has resumed, staffing the events has become an issue,” Bob Sigler points out, “same with other parents, Adam and I are always on the go with our kids and their academic or athletic activities.”
“The flat track race at the fairgrounds earlier this month showed much potential,” Campbell notes, “but short notice scheduling certainly has an impact on turnout. As much as I want to race, I’d rather play it safe, regroup and reinvest in the 2010 racing season, versus trying to catch up on 2009 with one remaining event.”
The inaugural season has not been easy, and with assets somewhat diminished, Campbell and Sigler decided to close the book on 2009, and begin preparations for 2010. Other venues have contacted OOM about future events and the move to end the season will free up time to research future events and begin negotiations. New sponsors have also shown interest, and OOM would rather bring them in at the beginning of a fresh new season.
“Sponsorship support was spectacular this year,” Campbell adds, “and we want to restructure and improve our program for both our returning and new sponsors.”
